As announced in the Rendezvous Tiny blue treat, we are going to collect even more edible berries this season. There is a surprising variety of them in the tundra high up in Scandinavia. I tasted five different ones and was always particularly pleased with the cloudberry. It is very important in Lapland and as soon as it starts to ripen in July, a kind of gold rush breaks out. They are not that easy to find and once you start looking for them, you really do get into a bit of a gold fever.
The cloudberry was also the emblem of a music festival in Tromsø last year. This year it is a chanterelle. If you feel like mushrooms right now, you might be stunned by Invisible Giants.
